The oldest German jazz bar in Germany is Em Pöötzke. Located in the heart of the old town of Düsseldorf, the wide variety of live music played can include dixieland, blues, soul, funk, rhythm & blues, Cuban and Latin American music, rock & roll, country, modern jazz and pop.

While admission is usually free, musicians traditionally walk around to request a donation. A five Euro note is suggested, as is a round of drinks. The bar serves Altbier, pils, selected long drinks, whisky and rum.
