Akademie Galerie in Düsseldorf
During its early years, the Art Academy, Kunstakademie, Düsseldorf began establishing a collection of works of art created by its students and professors. Traditionally a high number of well known German artists studied in Düsseldorf. Today students as well as professors originate from many corners of the globe.
An ideal opportunity was grasped by the Arts Academy, the mayor and city administration in 2005 to reinstate the tradition. When the arts and crafts school located down the road in the old town was vacated, the Akademie Gallerie came to into being. Since then, the Galerie forms a platform for the public to experience the high quality of artists who studied locally.
Themed exhibitions are hosted from time to time in a fine building on the Burgplatz.

EXHIBITIONS IN DÜSSELDORF
Art venues and museums in Düsseldorf regularly present selections of their fine pieces in well arranged exhibitions. Regular exhibits also include fascinating or rare works from across the globe with loaned art and artefacts.

Original language movies are popular among expats in Düsseldorf. Films are frequently screened in English at a variety of cinemas in original with subtitles, known as OmU or Original mit Untertitel and without, portrayed as OV or Original Version.
